Bryan Adams inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame
With countless Billboard hits and an illustrious career that spans more than four decades, Canadian rock superstar Bryan Adams has solidified his rank as one of the world's most successful musicians and songwriters of all time. Bryan Adams was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame alongside long-time songwriting partner Jim Vallance on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Toronto's Massey Hall. Adams was presented with his award by David Foster.
Jim Vallance inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame
With an unprecedented four Juno awards for songwriter of the year, Jim Vallance is one of Canada’s pre-eminent songwriters and the creative force behind top tracks for artists like Bryan Adams, Aerosmith, Joe Cocker and Glass Tiger. Jim Vallance and Bryan Adams were inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame (CSHF) in 2022. Vallance was presented with his award by Lawrence Gowan.
Alanis Morissette inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame
Alanis Morissette, known for her no-holds-barred autobiographical songwriting, has led the way for a new crop of songwriters since the release of her iconoclastic “Jagged Little Pill” in 1995. Her nine studio albums and three live albums have sold over an astounding 60 million copies. Alanis was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Toronto's Massey Hall. Morissette was presented with her award by Olivia Rodrigo.
David Foster inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame
David Foster is one of the most successful songwriters of all-time. The 16-time Grammy Award winning producer-songwriter has written chart-topping international hits for artists such as Earth, Wind & Fire, Chicago, Céline Dion, and Whitney Houston, as well as culture-defining soundtracks for blockbuster films like The Bodyguard, Urban Cowboy, and St. Elmo’s Fire. The BC-born music veteran was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Toronto's Massey Hall. Foster was presented with his award by Bryan Adams.
Daniel Lavoie inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame
Daniel Lavoie was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Toronto's Massey Hall. Lavoie was presented with his award by Jim Corcoran. Boasting a career spanning half a century and a discography of 24 albums, Daniel Lavoie is one of the most talented singer-songwriters of his generation and the most esteemed by his peers, both in Canada and in France. He has given us a multitude of unforgettable songs, notably Ils s’aiment, La danse du smatte, J’ai quitté mon île, Tension attention, Qui sait, Jours de plaine and, of course, Je voudrais voir New York. He has written for the likes of Lara Fabian, Roch Voisine, Céline Dion, Nana Mouskouri and many others.
